‘Recall’ Earrings
Process pictures of the telephone buttons and design development.
All pieces have real up cycled telephone buttons, cut and polished to be stone set as ‘gemstones’. The earrings are meant to elevate the intimate act of listening once shared between the telephone and its user. While the device’s original function fades into memory, its core purpose, connection, lives on as the recall button is transformed into a wearable form.
Drawing from the way telephone wires once connected us physically during conversations, ’Muting The Call’ captures that playful yet intimate interaction, this time woven through the hair, making it a lasting presence. Materials: copper, plastic
